Close to 25,000 Left Without Power in Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Storms
Nearly twenty-five thousand households in Queensland's southeast woke up lacking electricity on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms impacted the state, producing strong winds hitting 109km/h.
Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Broad Damage
Residents observed giant hailstones as large as seven centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities verified that various areas across the state had been impacted by significant hail.

Utility workers were focused on reestablishing energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams working to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victorian Climate Difficulties
Simultaneously, nearly 1,000 residents in the southern state also encountered energy failures after the capital city recorded its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
State Emergency Services responded to over five hundred emergency reports across the state, mainly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

- Hoppers Crossing - numerous emergency calls
- Wyndham region - 179 emergency requests
At the height on yesterday, more than 28k power users in the state were without power.
Weather Forecast
Humid circumstances were expected to linger along much of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coast.
Tuesday was forecast to be the most rainy day, with continued storm activity expected across different parts of both areas.
Medical Alert
Public health experts warned that there was an greater possibility of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the current weather patterns.
This alert comes after past events where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the state.
